Patrick Clancy threatens legal action over online conspiracy theories

Following the mistrial in the Lindsay Clancy murder case, Patrick Clancy and his legal team are threatening action against online conspiracy theorists. The trial, which centered on the deaths of three children in Duxbury, Massachusetts, in January 2023, ended after a jury failed to reach a unanimous verdict.

Patrick Clancy’s attorney, Howard Cooper, issued a statement condemning a “relentless, escalating and destructive defamation campaign” led by influencers and conspiracy theorists. These individuals have spread baseless claims suggesting Patrick was involved in the deaths of his children, despite Lindsay Clancy’s defense not disputing her role in the killings. Cooper noted that the harassment has impacted Patrick’s reputation, livelihood, and personal safety, and confirmed that law enforcement has been notified.

In a rare move, Lindsay Clancy’s own defense attorney, Kevin Reddington, also spoke out to defend her ex-husband. Reddington urged the public to “stop with the speculation and horrific conspiracy allegations,” stating that Lindsay is distressed by the claims and that Patrick has endured an unimaginable ordeal. He emphasized that the couple had a strong relationship prior to the tragedy.
