Lindsay Clancy case: Deleted Reddit posts reveal mental health spiral

Deleted Reddit posts belonging to Patrick Clancy have surfaced, providing insight into the mental health decline of his then-wife, Lindsay Clancy, prior to the 2023 murders of their three children in Duxbury, Massachusetts.

In the posts, dated December 2022, Patrick described Lindsay’s escalating symptoms after she began taking Zoloft to manage anxiety regarding her return to work as a nurse. He documented her experiencing severe insomnia, including one instance of remaining awake for 48 hours, and a rapid weight loss of 15 pounds over two months.

The posts also noted that a psychiatrist suggested Lindsay was exhibiting signs of bipolar disorder. These digital records were linked to the case in court through an email address identified by forensics expert Timothy Chiappini.

The legal proceedings against Lindsay Clancy, who admitted to the killings but cited postpartum psychosis as a defense, recently resulted in a mistrial after a single juror prevented a unanimous verdict of not guilty by reason of insanity. A status conference is expected to determine the next steps in the case.
