Patrick Dorgu seeks fixed position at Manchester United
Manchester United player Patrick Dorgu has expressed a desire to specialize in a single position to improve his training and performance. The 21-year-old Denmark international has been utilized in various roles since joining the club, including left wing-back, left winger, right winger, and left-back.
Dorgu stated to Tipsbladet that while he is willing to play multiple roles due to modern football trends, he feels most natural as a left-back, which was the starting position of his professional career. Under former manager Ruben Amorim, he was frequently used as a left wing-back, but under current manager Michael Carrick, he has transitioned between attacking and defensive roles.
Despite his preference for a fixed role, Dorgu's versatility has been a consequence of tactical shifts and squad needs, such as covering for injuries. His recent appearances have been split between defensive and attacking duties, though he has found success in attacking roles, including scoring goals as a winger.
