Patrick Herbert joins Los Angeles Chargers practice squad
Patrick Herbert, a tight end and brother of Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert, has signed with the Chargers' practice squad. The move follows his release from the Jacksonville Jaguars ahead of the roster-cut deadline.
Patrick Herbert, 25, previously played alongside Justin at the University of Oregon during the 2019 season. Before joining the Chargers, he recorded two catches for 12 yards against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the preseason with the Jaguars.
While Patrick Herbert joins the organization, he will occupy a practice squad role rather than the active roster. The Chargers currently feature several tight ends on their depth chart, including Charlie Kolar, Oronde Gadsden, and David Njoku.
