Patrick Kielty discusses divorce and personal loss

TV presenter Patrick Kielty has spoken publicly for the first time regarding his divorce from Cat Deeley and the recent loss of his mother. The separation from Deeley was announced in July 2025 following a 12-to-13-year marriage.

Speaking to the Irish Independent, Kielty described his recent hardships as part of ‘the ebb and flow of life’ and ‘the tapestry of life’ rather than purely negative experiences. He noted that despite facing significant personal trauma, including the death of his mother and the earlier murder of his father, he remains focused on his health and his two sons, Milo and James.

Kielty expressed that he finds great joy in fatherhood and the ability to be present for his children’s daily lives, such as school runs and sports.
