Patrick Mahomes on track to start Week 1 for Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is on track to start in Week 1 against the Denver Broncos. Despite undergoing surgery in December to repair torn ligaments in his left knee, Mahomes has exceeded medical expectations during his rehabilitation.

While doctors initially suggested a potential October return, Mahomes has been participating with the first team throughout training camp. Although he did not participate in any preseason games, Chiefs coach Andy Reid noted that this was a planned approach and that Mahomes will continue his practice routine.

Wide receiver Xavier Worthy commented on Mahomes' leadership and recovery process, noting that the quarterback has been working on timing and rapport with teammates throughout the offseason.
