Patrick Reed surprised by Saudi fund exit from LIV Golf
Patrick Reed said he was "utterly surprised" when Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund announced it would cease financing the LIV Golf league after its 13‑event season, putting the league's $30 million prize purses in doubt.
The PIF has spent at least $5.3 billion on the venture, which has been burning roughly $100 million a month. Reed, who left LIV earlier to re‑join the PGA Tour, expressed uncertainty about the league's future and hopes affected players can find opportunities elsewhere.
