Patrick Vieira reveals near move to Manchester United

Former Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira has revealed that he nearly transferred to Manchester United during his playing career. In a discussion with Sky Sports, Vieira disclosed that he met with Sir Alex Ferguson to discuss a potential move to Old Trafford.

During the meeting, Ferguson outlined a tactical vision for a team built around Vieira, proposing a midfield partnership with Roy Keane, supported by Ryan Giggs on the left, David Beckham on the right, and Paul Scholes playing behind Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Despite the opportunity and interest from Real Madrid, Vieira ultimately chose to remain at Arsenal. He stated that he felt settled in north London and believed the club was building something special, a decision that saw him captain the ‘Invincibles’ side to an unbeaten Premier League campaign in 2003-04.
