Patrick Vieira reaches agreement with Senegal football federation

The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has reportedly reached an agreement in principle with Patrick Vieira to lead the national team. The proposed contract is set for a duration of four years.

Under the terms of the agreement, Vieira’s monthly salary is estimated to be between 35 and 45 million FCFA. The FSF has established two primary sporting objectives for his tenure: guiding the Lions of Teranga to the final of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) and securing qualification for the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

This appointment follows the departure of Pape Thiaw after Senegal's exit from the 2026 World Cup in the round of 16. The federation aims to initiate a new cycle and maintain the team's competitive standing on both the continental and international stages.
