Patrick Xavier Clark seeks ballistic evidence review before Takeoff murder trial

Patrick Xavier Clark, the man accused of killing Migos rapper Takeoff, has filed court documents requesting access to examine bullets and other physical evidence before his murder trial begins this November.

Clark’s legal team is seeking permission for an independent expert to analyze ballistics and evidence currently held by the Houston Police Department. The defense aims to use this analysis to build reasonable doubt regarding the 2022 shooting that occurred outside 810 Billiards & Bowling in downtown Houston.

Takeoff, whose real name was Kirshnik Khari Ball, was fatally shot on November 1, 2022, during a private event. Prosecutors allege surveillance footage shows Clark firing a weapon toward the crowd, while the defense maintains he is not responsible for the killing. Jury selection is scheduled for November 5, with the trial set to commence on November 9.
