Patrik Jahoda wins gold at Para Cycling World Championships

Czech para cyclists achieved significant success at the start of the Para Cycling Road World Championships in Huntsville, Alabama. Patrik Jahoda won the gold medal in the MH1 handbike time trial, completing the 14.6 km course in 30:42.59.

Jahoda noted that his preparation, including arriving in the United States two weeks early to adapt to the heat, helped him manage the extreme conditions. Temperatures reached 38 degrees Celsius, with heat indices exceeding 40 degrees Celsius due to high humidity.

Pavlína Vejvodová secured a silver medal in the WT1 tricycle category with a time of 30:00.32. She described the race as a competitive battle, noting that her Chinese opponent acted as a ‘psychological magnet’ during the event.
