Patrik Laine and NHL trade rumors emerge

Unrestricted free agent Patrik Laine is reportedly feeling healthy and ready to play, according to his agent, Andy Scott. While the Calgary Flames have held internal discussions regarding Laine, the team is reportedly prioritizing the development of its younger players at the start of the season.

Laine, a Finnish winger known for his elite shooting ability, is seeking a fresh start following a period that included time in the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program and a season limited by core muscle surgery. His potential addition to a roster could provide immediate power-play strength.

In other league news, 38-year-old forward David Perron remains a free agent and is looking for a suitable team fit. Additionally, the Philadelphia Flyers are rumored to be seeking defensive depth, with potential targets including Luke Schenn, Justin Faulk, and Zach Whitecloud.
