PATRIN denies rumors of deaf athletes conducting independent fundraising

The Indonesian Association of Deaf Athletes (PATRIN), known internationally as the Indonesian Association of the Deaf Athlete (IADA), has denied reports that deaf athletes are being forced to conduct independent fundraising to participate in international championships.

PATRIN leadership, including Chairman Dimyati Hakim and Deputy Secretary General Agung Baghaskoro, clarified that the organization is the sole Indonesian entity recognized by the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD). They emphasized that the process for sending athletes to international competitions is conducted through official mechanisms in coordination with the National Paralympic Committee of Indonesia (NPCI) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Agung stated that the organization was unaware of any public fundraising efforts and has not provided any coordination or approval for such actions, maintaining that relations with the NPCI remain positive.
