Patriot Front White Supremacist March Near U.S. Capitol During 250th Independence Celebrations

On July 4, 2026, amid the United States' 250th‑anniversary festivities, members of Patriot Front—a white‑supremacist organization—staged a march around the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. Participants wore white face coverings, blue polo shirts and khaki pants, carried U.S. and Confederate flags, and shouted slogans such as “Reclaim America,” echoing “Make America White Again” rhetoric.

Reuters photographers reported that about 400 members arrived in the capital and entered the Metro system, where they were photographed boarding a train at Eastern Market station. One image, showing a solitary Black woman seated among the masked marchers, gained worldwide attention. The group’s manifesto calls for a “hard reset” of democracy and a return to the “traditions and virtues of our forefathers.”

The march coincided with President Donald Trump's presence at the celebrations, sparking debate: some MAGA supporters defended the group, while others labeled it a false‑flag operation. Patriot Front did not respond to Reuters inquiries about its motives.
