Abelardo de la Espriella meets Attorney General and manages Chocó earthquake response

President Abelardo de la Espriella held a closed-door meeting with Attorney General Luz Adriana Camargo, Justice Minister Iván Cancino, and Vice Attorney General Gilberto Javier Guerrero to discuss criminal policy. The meeting aims to coordinate efforts to combat crime and impunity, specifically regarding the reactivation of arrest warrants for criminal leaders, while maintaining the independence of the Prosecutor's Office.

Simultaneously, the nation's focus shifted following a 7.4 magnitude earthquake centered in San José del Palmar, Chocó. In response to the disaster, President de la Espriella declared a national state of disaster, canceled his scheduled agenda, and established a Unified Command Post in Bogotá, with additional territorial posts in Armenia, Quibdó, and Cali to manage the emergency response.
