Patriotic Support Fund allocates 700 million CFA monthly to Burkina Faso battalion

The Patriotic Support Fund (FSP) in Burkina Faso is mobilizing more than 700 million CFA francs per month to support the operations of the Bataillon Mixte de Marche Fantôme 1. This funding covers personnel maintenance, health, bonuses, food, and logistics for the battalion and its Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland (VDP).

During a recent field mission to evaluate the fund's impact, Vieux Abdoul Rachid Soulama, Secretary General of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, noted that the unit has also received equipment valued at nearly one billion CFA francs. The mission, conducted under the instruction of Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, aimed to ensure accountability and observe how citizen contributions are being utilized to enhance the operational capacities of defense and security forces.

Officials emphasized that these investments are part of a broader effort to provide combatants with the necessary means to defend national integrity and restore peace. The mission concluded with a reaffirmation of the commitment to rigorous and transparent resource management.
