Patriots weigh trading former first‑round pick Kayshon Boutte

Wide receiver Kayshon Boutte, a former first‑round pick of the New England Patriots, is again the subject of trade speculation. After posting 33 catches for 551 yards and six touchdowns last season, the Patriots' depth at receiver has increased with the addition of A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs, prompting the organization to consider moving Boutte. Sports Illustrated reporter Albert Breer said the team is "open to finding a new team for the young wide receiver" and indicated that a fifth‑round draft pick could be enough to complete a deal.

If a trade materializes before training camp, the Patriots would gain a draft asset while Boutte could secure a fresh start with a team offering a larger offensive role. The player’s postseason performance, including a 32‑yard touchdown in a playoff win over the Houston Texans, has kept his value high as the trade window approaches.
