Patriotti in Lotta denounces targeting of Corsican political prisoners

The collective Patriotti in Lotta has denounced what it describes as the continued targeting of former Corsican political prisoners. During a press conference in Ajaccio, the group argued that recent measures regarding the Finiada registry and internal security regulations contradict previous commitments made by the French Minister of Justice.

The organization claims that while there were signs of openness regarding the Fijait and certain fines, new administrative dispositions are being used to maintain restrictions on individuals. Specifically, the group cited the case of Olivier Sauli, noting that the removal of certain classifications was replaced by measures under ‘internal security’ that continue to impact civil and social rights, such as the ability to possess weapons.

Patriotti in Lotta maintains that the issue of political prisoners must be central to the ongoing debate regarding Corsican autonomy. They compared the current situation to the institutional evolutions of 1981 and 1990, which included amnesties and releases. The collective intends to contact relevant authorities to defend the rights of those affected and has called for support from both patriotic and progressive forces.
