Patrizia Rota exhibition to open at Galleria Civica G. B. Bosio

The Galleria Civica G. B. Bosio in Desenzano del Garda will host “La misura della meraviglia,” a solo exhibition by artist Patrizia Rota, from September 26 to October 18, 2026. Curated by art historian Gianfranco Ferlisi, the exhibition showcases Rota’s research into still life painting developed over the last twenty years.

The collection features familiar objects such as fruit, shells, and glassware, which the artist transforms through precise representation to invite viewers to observe details like light reflections and textures. The exhibition places Rota’s work within the tradition of Western still life, drawing comparisons to artists such as Giorgio Morandi, Ugo Celada, and René Magritte.

Unlike traditional still life works that function as “vanitas” to symbolize mortality, Rota’s depictions present objects as luminous, monumental, and suspended in time. Ferlisi notes that the artist’s work focuses on the relationship between reality and representation, treating the fruits not merely as objects but as “events of painting.”
