Patsy Ayala appointed to Metro Board of Directors

Santa Clarita Mayor Pro Tem Patsy Ayala has been selected to join the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) Board of Directors. Ayala fills the seat representing the North County/San Fernando Valley subregion, following the retirement of Glendale City Councilmember Ara Najarian.

Ayala, who has experience in the California State Assembly and Senate, expressed her intention to represent the perspectives of daily transit users. She pledged to support regional projects including the NoHo-Pasadena Bus Rapid Transit, Metrolink Antelope Valley Line upgrades, and the Highway 14 expansion.

In addition to her role on the Santa Clarita City Council, Ayala serves as a Director of the Los Angeles County North County Transportation Coalition. Her official swearing-in is scheduled for October 1, 2026.
