Pattaya boats sink and run aground amid severe weather

Severe weather conditions, including strong winds and heavy waves, have caused significant maritime incidents near Pattaya, Thailand. Reports indicate that six boats sank in the rough seas, including one large tourist vessel and five speedboats. Additionally, two large parasailing boats were pushed toward the shore by the wind and waves.

Near Jomtien Beach, a large tour boat ran aground, sustaining damage to its hull. The unstable weather has also resulted in significant marine debris washing up on the shore.

In response to the dangerous conditions, authorities have issued red flags and prohibited tourist vessels from departing. Local beach chair rental operators have also suspended services for safety reasons. The regional marine office has urged boat operators to monitor weather updates closely and keep vessels ashore until conditions improve.
