Pattaya cannabis farm fire causes smoke inhalation symptoms
A fire broke out on the morning of September 25 at a two-story residence converted into a cannabis cultivation facility in Thepprasit Village, Pattaya. The blaze, which was reported around 7:36 a.m., was brought under control by firefighters within approximately 30 minutes.
An employee reported seeing sparks emanating from an electrical control box shortly before an explosion occurred, causing the flames to spread rapidly through the building. Preliminary assessments by Pattaya City Police suggest an electrical short circuit may have ignited the cannabis plants and cultivation equipment. No deaths or direct physical injuries from the flames were reported.
However, the thick, pungent smoke produced by the burning cannabis caused various physical reactions among responders and nearby residents. Witnesses and emergency personnel reported experiencing symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, and lightheadedness after inhaling the dense smoke.
