Pattaya City expands and regulates street performance zones
Pattaya City has revised its regulations, operating hours, and designated zones for street performers to ensure orderly public spaces while providing more opportunities for artists to earn income.
Under the new arrangements, performances are permitted daily along Pattaya Beach and Jomtien Beach from 6:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., with specific exceptions for children and youth. The city has expanded its designated park locations from five to six, adding the Pattaya City Youth Sports Center to the existing list of approved sites.
On Walking Street, a fifth performance location has been added in front of the Siam Bayshore Hotel, where acts are permitted from 7:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Additionally, a proposal is under consideration for the Lan Pho fresh seafood market in Na Kluea, which would allow daily performances from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Officials noted that for certain locations, preference will be given to skilled performers who do not use electrical equipment to maintain the local character. Approvals will initially be granted for seven-day periods and remain subject to official review.
