Pattaya hosts 4th International Film Festival to pursue UNESCO status

The 4th Pattaya International Film Festival has launched under the theme ‘THE CINEMATIC WAVE’. The event, held in Pattaya, Chonburi, aims to showcase the city's potential as a major hub for the film and entertainment industry.

A primary objective of the festival is to support Pattaya's bid to join the UNESCO Creative Cities Network as a City of Film by 2027. Organizers, including the Ministry of Culture and local government, aim to leverage the city's diverse locations, cultural capital, and academic resources to attract international film productions, boost tourism, and stimulate the local economy.

The festival features red carpet events and award ceremonies honoring both on-screen and behind-the-scenes professionals. The opening ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials and numerous prominent figures from the Thai film and entertainment industry.
