Pattaya Marathon to proceed despite rain and flooding warnings

The 33rd Amazing Thailand Pattaya Marathon 2026 is scheduled to proceed on September 26 and 27, despite recent flooding and warnings of heavy rain from the Thai Meteorological Department. More than 21,700 runners from 58 countries are expected to participate in the event.

Chonburi Governor Naris Niramaiwong, Pattaya Mayor Poramese Ngampichet, and Deputy Mayor Krisana Boonsawad confirmed the race will not be postponed. Officials stated they will monitor the course and provide support to runners, residents, and visitors to ensure safety during the widespread thunderstorms forecast for the Eastern region.

The marathon and half-marathon will take place on Sunday, with the full marathon starting at 3:30 a.m. and the half-marathon at 5:10 a.m. Shorter races, including a 10 km run and a 4.5 km family/wheelchair run, will occur on Saturday. The start and finish line is located at Terminal 21 Pattaya on North Pattaya Road. Significant road closures and traffic restrictions are expected throughout the weekend, affecting major routes including Pattaya Beach Road, Sukhumvit Road, and Jomtien Beach Road.
