Pattaya police arrest man after machete attack on Cambodian worker

A Cambodian national was arrested in Pattaya following a machete attack on a fellow Cambodian worker at a labor camp. The victim sustained severe injuries, including deep wounds to the back of the head that exposed the skull and a serious injury to the left wrist. Rescuers found the victim barely breathing before he was rushed to Jomtien Hospital for emergency treatment.

According to a work supervisor, the suspect had previously been dismissed from the camp following a fight on August 3. The accused returned to the site on the day of the incident, claiming he intended to collect his belongings. CCTV footage reportedly showed the suspect entering the camp around 12:08 PM carrying a large cleaver concealed under a construction helmet. After the assault, witnesses observed the man purchasing water at a nearby shop before fleeing on a motorcycle. Police apprehended the suspect later that afternoon in the Naklua area of the Bang Lamung district. The accused has since claimed that he targeted the wrong individual.
