Pattaya police investigate delivery rider impersonator for multiple thefts
A series of thefts involving a man posing as a food delivery rider has been reported across Pattaya, Thailand. The suspect reportedly uses a motorcycle equipped with a delivery bag and wears a delivery platform uniform with his face covered to blend in.
In one specific incident at a convenience store on Soi Bongkot, the man collected a case of cooking oil valued at 816 baht but fled without delivering the order to the customer. Local delivery rider groups have reported that the suspect may be using this method repeatedly. Additionally, there are allegations that the individual has stolen unattended packages from condominiums and hotels while appearing to make deliveries.
A convenience store employee and a group of local riders visited the Pattaya City Police Station on September 16 to submit CCTV footage and other evidence. The riders expressed concern that these actions damage the reputation of legitimate delivery workers. Police are currently investigating the evidence to identify and locate the suspect.
