Patton and alfanar partner to modernize Saudi power infrastructure

Patton LLC and alfanar have entered into a strategic cooperation agreement to modernize electrical substations, smart-grid infrastructure, and critical energy operations in Saudi Arabia.

The partnership aims to upgrade Operational Technology (OT) and IT networks by integrating industrial automation and cybersecurity solutions. The collaboration will utilize alfanar Digital Solutions and alfanar eDAS to implement Industry 4.0 standards, including network segmentation, SCADA policy enforcement, and resilient substation automation.

Key technologies to be deployed include Patton’s ConnectIT serial-to-IP platforms for integrating legacy systems with modern Ethernet/IP networks, CopperLink for extending Ethernet connectivity, and FiberPlex Data Diode SFP modules to provide hardware-enforced, unidirectional cybersecurity for secure data transfer.
