Patwari in Sidhi sparks outrage after riding on elderly man's back

A viral video from the Sidhi district in Madhya Pradesh has sparked outrage among villagers following an incident involving a local government official. Nilesh Namdev, a Patwari (village registrar) assigned to the Mata Gram Panchayat, was filmed riding on the back of an elderly resident, Lalba Kewat, to cross a water-filled stream.

Reports suggest the official sought assistance from the elderly man to avoid getting his shoes wet while traveling through the area. The footage has led to widespread criticism regarding the dignity of public office and the insensitive treatment of senior citizens. Local residents have expressed anger, questioning why the official did not seek alternative means to cross the stream. A formal written complaint regarding the official's conduct has been submitted to the Collector during a public hearing.
