Pau Cubarsí leads Golden Boy rankings and discusses language use

FC Barcelona defender Pau Cubarsí is currently leading the rankings for the Golden Boy Award, an honor recognizing the best under-21 player in European club football. With 83.4 points, Cubarsí holds a narrow lead over Lamine Yamal, who sits in second place with 83.1 points. Other notable names in the top rankings include Ayyoub Bouaddi in third place and Barcelona's Xavi Espart, who has entered the top 30.

Separately, Cubarsí has addressed the use of the Catalan language within the Spanish national team environment. He noted that while he and other Catalan players occasionally use their native language during training or casual moments—such as during a rondo—it does not cause issues. He explained that he uses Catalan with teammates like Eric García for greater fluidity, but communicates perfectly in Spanish with the rest of the squad to ensure collective coexistence.
