Paul Brink appointed Chair of the World Gold Council

The World Gold Council has appointed Paul Brink as the new Chair of its Board. Brink, who serves as the President and CEO of Franco-Nevada Corporation, succeeds Neal Froneman following the completion of his term.

Brink has been with Franco-Nevada since its 2007 initial public offering, previously serving as president and chief operating officer. In his new role, Brink intends to focus on the Consolidated Mining Standard Initiative to improve industry transparency and accountability, while continuing the Council’s gold digitalisation programme.

World Gold Council CEO David Tait noted that Brink’s industry knowledge will be vital as the organization works to champion gold as a strategic asset and strengthen responsible mining standards.
