Paul Casey takes three-shot lead at European Masters

Paul Casey has taken a three-shot lead heading into the final round of the European Masters at Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club. After starting the day four shots behind, the 49-year-old Englishman carded a 63 to reach sixteen under par. Casey, who now resides in Switzerland, stated his intention to donate his prize money to Foundation Beloved, a charity supporting those affected by the New Year’s Day tragedy in Crans-Montana.

Shubhankar Sharma, who held a position in the top ten during the first two rounds, fell to a tie for 50th place following a third-round 74. Sharma’s performance included two double bogeys, undoing his earlier momentum of 64 and 68.

Other notable performances include South Africa’s Thriston Lawrence, who held a lead at the halfway stage after a 63, and Nacho Elvira, who shot a 62 to sit in a tie for second. Maximilian Steinlechner and Erik Van Rooyen also remain in contention after shooting 63s.
