Paul Cotter emerges as standout performer for Vancouver Canucks

Vancouver Canucks left winger Paul Cotter has emerged as a standout performer during the early stages of the 2026-27 NHL season. Through his first four games, Cotter has recorded four goals and two assists, demonstrating versatility by scoring in various situations, including shorthanded, power play, and overtime.

Due to his high production and low cap hit, analysts suggest Cotter could become a significant trade asset if the Canucks pursue a rebuilding strategy. His playing style, characterized by speed, physicality, and relentless forechecking, has drawn comparisons to former Canucks player Kiefer Sherwood. Cotter’s ability to contribute on both the penalty kill and power play, combined with his physical presence, makes him a versatile option for multiple lines.
