Paul Ferris funeral held in Glasgow

Family and friends gathered in Glasgow on Monday to attend the funeral of Paul Ferris, a former crime boss who transitioned into a career as an author. The 62-year-old passed away earlier this month at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital following a short illness.

The service, held at Daldowie Crematorium, featured a piper leading the cortege and music from artists such as Pink Floyd, Elton John, and Tom Petty. Notable attendees included Scottish actor Paul Brannigan and former boxing champion Alex Arthur.

Ferris, who was once an associate of Arthur ‘The Godfather’ Thompson Sr., later turned away from crime. He was convicted of arms trafficking in 1998 but found success as a writer, co-authoring ‘The Ferris Conspiracy’ while serving his sentence. His life story served as the inspiration for the 2013 film ‘The Wee Man’. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to The Invisibles, a Glasgow-based group supporting homeless individuals.
