Paul Kelly to headline BIGSOUND 25th anniversary program

The BIGSOUND music conference and showcase event will celebrate its 25th anniversary this September in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley. The program features Australian songwriting legend Paul Kelly, who will participate in a conversation with ABC journalist Sarah Kanowski regarding the role of songwriting in Australian music culture. This session is presented in conjunction with APRA AMCOS as part of its 100-year celebration of Australian songwriting.

The anniversary program includes over 100 industry guests from sectors such as labels, touring, media, and technology. Notable participants include ARIA CEO Annabelle Herd and representatives from Live Nation and TEG. The event will feature various specialized hubs, including the Ideas and Innovation Hub focusing on music technology, and a Spotify-presented Artist Hub offering masterclasses and workshops on US visas and artist development. Other scheduled discussions will cover topics such as the global expansion of Latin music and the relationship between an artist’s music and visual identity.
