Paul Lyngdoh sworn in as Meghalaya Cabinet Minister
Paul Lyngdoh, the West Shillong MLA and National People’s Party legislator, has been reinstalled as a cabinet minister in the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance government. Governor Chandrashekhar H. Vijayashankar administered the oath of office and secrecy at Lok Bhavan.
Lyngdoh, who previously held a cabinet position before being removed last year, stated that his return aims to provide continuity to the Tourism Department. He intends to prioritize projects that enhance the state's status as a tourism destination, specifically mentioning the need to address challenges surrounding the Shillong Peak Ropeway project.
Additionally, the minister plans to reassess and strengthen security and safety measures for both residents and visitors across Meghalaya. He noted that previous safety plans had been interrupted by changes in leadership and expressed a commitment to bringing the tourism sector back on track.
