Paul-Maar-Schule celebrates topping-out ceremony for expansion
The Paul-Maar-Schule in Nidderau-Eichen has celebrated the topping-out ceremony for the second phase of its expansion project. The Main-Kinzig-Kreis district, in cooperation with the school community and the city of Nidderau, is investing a total of 5.5 million euros to expand the primary school to support all-day educational offerings.
The construction project aims to nearly double the school's usable area from approximately 650 to 1,200 square meters. The new facilities will include a kitchen, a cafeteria, and associated utility rooms, as well as updated sanitary facilities to meet future demand.
First District Commissioner Jannik Marquart emphasized that the expansion provides the necessary spatial requirements for reliable all-day services, including modern learning and care rooms. The construction is being carried out during ongoing school operations, which has resulted in temporary challenges such as noise, dust, and a reduced playground area for students.
