Paul Magnier rejects Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe to stay with Soudal Quick-Step

French sprinting talent Paul Magnier has decided to remain with Soudal Quick-Step, rejecting interest from Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe. Despite being approached by the German team for a potential move starting in 2027, the 22-year-old cyclist has opted for continuity in Belgium.

Magnier cited strong mutual trust and the quality of his current team's lead-out as primary reasons for staying. He is currently under contract with Soudal Quick-Step until the end of 2029. Reports from L’Équipe suggested that Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe had even envisioned Magnier competing alongside Remco Evenepoel as part of their strategy to strengthen their presence in the Flemish classics and mass sprints.

Magnier has demonstrated significant growth, including a highly successful 2025 season with 19 victories and a second-place finish at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, highlighting his versatility in both sprints and hilly terrain.
