Paul Magnier wins ADAC Cyclassics; Hugo Page wins La Polynormande
French cyclist Paul Magnier of Soudal Quick-Step secured his first WorldTour classic victory at the 29th edition of the ADAC Cyclassics in Hamburg. Following a competitive race featuring five ascents of the Waseberg, Magnier won a mass sprint, finishing ahead of Mike Teunissen (XDS Astana) and Laurence Pithie (Red Bull-Bora-hansgrohe). The event was marked by several falls, including Isaac Del Toro, who managed to rejoin the race, and the tragic death of a 70-year-old amateur participant following a medical emergency.
In separate cycling news, Hugo Page of Cofidis won La Polynormande, the 11th stage of the FDJ United Series. Page won via a small group sprint, marking his first victory in three years. The race also featured the professional debut of Émilien Jacquelin, who rode at the front of the peloton for 120 kilometers before being distanced late in the race.
