Paul McCartney honored by ARTE with career documentaries

The television network ARTE is celebrating Paul McCartney by rebroadcasting two significant programs. The lineup includes a portrait by Judith Voelker, originally aired for McCartney’s 80th birthday in 2022, and a 2024 documentary focusing on the early years of The Beatles in Hamburg.

The portrait tracks McCartney’s career from his modest beginnings through the era of Beatlemania, utilizing historical archival material and interviews with associates such as bassist Klaus Voormann and Wolfgang Niedecken. The programming follows the recent release of his solo album, ‘The Boys Of Dungeon Lane’.
