Paul McCartney recalls writing Beatles song ‘Wait’ in presence of actor
Paul McCartney has recalled the origins of the Beatles song ‘Wait’ from the ‘Rubber Soul’ era. McCartney noted that the track was primarily his composition, despite being credited to Lennon-McCartney.
The song was written in early 1965 while the band was in the Bahamas filming the movie ‘Help!’. McCartney remembers writing the song in the presence of actor Brandon deWilde, who had traveled from the United States to join the film crew.
George Harrison also provided recollections regarding the period, noting that the band and deWilde shared a charter flight to the Bahamas. The recording of ‘Wait’ also featured the unorthodox use of a volume pedal for the guitar parts.
