Paul Miller Racing leads GTD PRO standings ahead of Indianapolis sprint

Paul Miller Racing enters the TireRack.com Battle on the Bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway with a 23-point lead in the GTD PRO class. Drivers Neil Verhagen and Connor De Phillippi hold 2,432 points in the No. 1 BMW M4 GT3 EVO, narrowly ahead of Nicky Catsburg and Tommy Milner, who have 2,409 points.

The upcoming race is a short-format sprint lasting 2 hours and 40 minutes, featuring 44 total entries across four classes, including GTP, LMP2, GTD PRO, and GTD. This format differs from the previous six-hour endurance version of the event.

In preparation for the championship's final stages, IMSA officials are emphasizing stricter enforcement of driving standards. Following aggressive on-track incidents at Watkins Glen and Road America, IMSA senior vice president of competition Simon Hodgson stated that the priority is safety and ensuring fair competition. The sanctioning body intends to utilize a tiered penalty process to manage the complexities of multiple classes racing simultaneously.
