Paul Mitchell appointed Chair of Construction Industry Collective Voice

Paul Mitchell, Managing Director of the Scottish Building Federation, has been appointed Chair of the Construction Industry Collective Voice (CICV). He succeeds Alan Wilson, who stepped down following his retirement as Managing Director of the electrical trade body SELECT.

Fiona Hodgson, Chief Executive of the Scottish and Northern Ireland Plumbing Employers’ Federation (SNIPEF), was re-elected as Deputy Chair. The CICV, established in 2020, represents 24 construction trade and professional bodies, covering approximately 53,000 Scottish businesses and 157,000 employees.

The coalition, which originally formed to coordinate the sector's response to the COVID-19 pandemic, has since expanded its remit. Under the new leadership, the group aims to strengthen engagement with the Scottish Government and address industry challenges. Recent initiatives include task-and-finish groups focusing on mental health, apprenticeship funding, late payments, and retentions legislation.
