Paul Pogba expected to leave AS Monaco via contract termination
AS Monaco is in negotiations to terminate the contract of midfielder Paul Pogba by mutual agreement. The decision follows a recurring series of physical setbacks, most recently a hamstring injury sustained during a pre-season training session at St George’s Park in England.
Pogba, 33, joined the Ligue 1 club in June 2025 following an 18-month doping suspension. His tenure has been marked by significant fitness struggles, with the player making only six competitive appearances and totaling approximately 115 minutes of play during the previous season.
Club officials, including CEO Thiago Scuro, have indicated that the initial project to revitalize Pogba’s career did not meet expectations. The club aims to finalize a financial and legal settlement before the summer transfer window closes on September 1, which would allow the former World Cup winner to become a free agent.
