Paul Robinson to face trial in Penn State drug ring case
Paul Robinson, a Pittsburgh attorney, has been ordered to face trial for felony tampering and hindering apprehension in connection with an alleged cocaine trafficking ring at Penn State University. Prosecutors allege that Robinson helped conceal evidence by retrieving a safe that had been buried in the woods.
A witness testified that after the arrest of Robinson’s son, Thomas “T-Robb” Robinson, the safe was hidden under leaves in a wooded area. The witness claimed he later returned to the site with Paul Robinson to dig up the safe, which allegedly contained drugs and cash. This testimony contradicts previous claims from the defense that the father simply acquired the safe while cleaning his son’s fraternity room.
Thomas Robinson, a member of the Delta Upsilon fraternity, faces numerous felony and misdemeanor charges related to the distribution of cocaine. In a statement released through his lawyer, Paul Robinson addressed the situation, describing his son’s actions as “one of the worst decisions” and claiming that Thomas’s previous honesty with investigators was used against him during the re-filing of charges.
