Paul Seixas named leader for 2026 Cycling World Championships

Paul Seixas, the 19-year-old French cyclist, has been named as a leader for the upcoming cycling World Championships in Canada, scheduled for September 20 to 27, 2026.

Seixas follows a strong performance at the World Championships in Rwanda, where he finished as the top Frenchman in 13th place. His recent successes include winning a World Tour stage race at the Tour du Pays basque, becoming the first Frenchman to achieve this since 2007. He has also demonstrated competitiveness against elite riders in races such as Strade Bianche and Liège-Bastogne-Liège.

French team selector Thomas Voeckler has praised Seixas’s ability to compete with the world's best and noted that while the full eight-man squad for Montreal has not yet been finalized, a core group of riders is already being considered.
