Paul Seixas withdraws from Tour Auvergne‑Rhône‑Alpes after crash

French cyclist Paul Seixas crashed at high speed on the descent of stage 7 of the Tour Auvergne‑Rhône‑Alpes, sustaining abrasions to his knees, elbows and torso but no fractures. He finished the stage in the top 10 but withdrew before stage 8 on medical advice, with team doctor Jacky Maillot stressing the need for rest to avoid further risk ahead of the Tour de France.

Teammate Aurélien Paret‑Peintre said Seixas was motivated the night before but could not continue the next morning. Former coach Mickaël Buffaz described the accident as a learning moment, noting that it forces the 19‑year‑old to recognize his limits and avoid unnecessary risk.
