Paul Simon to release ‘The Quiet Celebration Concert’ live album

Musician Paul Simon is releasing a live album titled ‘Paul Simon: The Quiet Celebration Concert’ on October 9. The recording is taken from performances at McCaw Hall in Seattle during the first U.S. leg of his comeback tour.

The tour marks Simon’s return to live performance following a six-year hiatus caused by severe hearing loss. The album serves as a companion to the concert film of the same name, which premiered on Disney+ and Hulu in June. The setlist includes solo works as well as Simon & Garfunkel classics such as ‘The Boxer’ and ‘The Sound of Silence.’

Simon described the tour as one of his most extraordinary and joyous experiences, noting the sense of camaraderie found in playing music with fellow musicians again. A live performance of ‘Under African Skies,’ a collaboration with Edie Brickell, has been released as a preview.
