Paul St-Pierre Plamondon visits Drummondville to outline PQ economic platform

Paul St-Pierre Plamondon, leader of the Parti Québécois, visited Drummondville as part of a provincial election campaign tour. During a press conference, he outlined the party's economic platform, which includes a significant reduction in direct corporate subsidies.

Plamondon proposed abolishing the Economic Development Fund while maintaining other forms of state support. He emphasized a desire to prioritize small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by creating a more favorable tax environment and reducing bureaucracy. The leader also addressed the Northvolt and Lion Électrique files.

Regarding regional issues, Plamondon discussed the need for healthcare reorganization to ensure citizens do not have to travel long distances for specialized services. He also touched upon the importance of the battery sector in Bécancour and the potential impacts of US trade relations on regional employment and supply chains.
