Paul Street to be sentenced for misconduct in public office

Former Cambridgeshire police sergeant Paul Street is set to be sentenced at the Old Bailey for misconduct in a public office. Street, a former television personality known for his work on BBC and Channel 4 crime shows, was found guilty of creating a “toxic” culture within his unit at Cambourne Police Station.

Investigations revealed that Street used WhatsApp groups to encourage the bullying of a teenage detainee and requested a sex video of a female suspect from a colleague. He also admitted to the unlawful disclosure of personal data to his partner.

Street will be sentenced alongside Josh Williams, 38, who pleaded guilty to misconduct in public office. The investigation into the culture fostered by Street also led to disciplinary actions against eleven other officers, including resignations and dismissals.
